A New Start!

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. I set this site up today as a space to share my journey — in faith, in ministry, in family life, and in the work I care deeply about. It’s only just beginning, but it will grow over time as I add reflections, updates, and thoughts from the road I’m travelling.

For those who don’t know me yet: I’m Neil, born in 1973 and currently a Methodist local preacher on trial within the Berkshire and Hampshire Borders Circuit. I’m a member of Christ Church in Woodley, a community that has shaped my faith and supported me as I’ve stepped more fully into preaching and service.

Alongside my ministry training, I work as an energy manager — a role that fits naturally with my passion for creation care, climate responsibility, and helping organisations make choices that honour both people and the planet. I’m blessed with an amazing wife who is studying sociology and psychology, three brilliant children, and two grandchildren who keep life joyful and grounded.

For more than 20 years I’ve also been a Scouter, which means the outdoors is part of who I am. When I’m not preparing worship or working on sustainability projects, you’ll often find me out on the rivers and canals in my Canadian canoe, finding peace in the rhythm of the water.

This blog will become a place where all these threads meet — faith, family, community, climate, Scouting, and the everyday moments where God’s kingdom breaks through. Thank you for visiting on day one. There’s much more to come as this space grows.
